According to the National Cancer Institute, Hispanics and Latinos continue to experience cancer health disparities for certain types of cancer, usually due to obstacles that make access to quality health care a challenge.
For the first time includes special activities for Hispanic/Latino patients and community members.

Adrian Morieko focuses on outreach and recruiting efforts to a variety of ethnic populations, particularly the Latino/Hispanic communities. Morieko brings both language and cultural fluency to the position. She now works with community health organizations to increase awareness of SCI’s many ongoing cancer trials, and to encourage patient referrals from community physicians. She also assists with securing clinical trial participation from Spanish-speaking patients, developing Spanish language materials and more.
Adriana brings almost two decades of experience in community-based education, empowerment, advocacy, applied research, and passion towards serving disadvantaged populations particularly in recent immigrant and Hispanic communities. For five years, she was the Program Director at Latinas Contra Cancer (LCC). Prior to LCC, she directed a multi-component citizenship and immigration program that provided immigration, citizenship, legal, civic participation, ESL program, and literacy services. She is also a volunteer promotora for Visión y Compromiso.
