CVS/pharmacy’s Project Health Brings Free Screening Events and Health Services to Underserved and Uninsured

CVS/pharmacy is currently holding more than 1,000 free Project Health screening events in 27 cities across the U.S. These events are designed to bring access to healthcare directly into multicultural communities throughout the country; help people know their numbers and how to take preventative action if necessary; and provide information about insurance options and the Affordable Care Act. Initially timed with the open enrollment period, the events will continue to run through mid-February.

CVS/pharmacy continues to hold its free Project Health screening events through mid-February, bringing the total to more than 1,000 events in 27 cities across the U.S.   In a previous article, Dawn-Marie Gray described how Project Health events are providing direct access to healthcare in multicultural and uninsured communities throughout the country – helping people to know their numbers, how to take preventive action, and where to seek treatment if necessary.  Here, she discusses how Project Health is helping to deliver culturally relevant healthcare access to its customers, and some of the results that they’ve seen so far at these events.

Dawn-Marie Gray is Director of Strategic Diversity Management - Retail and MinuteClinic for CVS Health. In this role, she leads the CVS Health Strategic Diversity Management business process and is responsible for delivering strategic action plans that align with workforce representation, talent systems, colleague engagement and marketplace diversity to drive company and individual growth.

In addition to supporting recruiting efforts, promoting colleague resource groups, influencing customer service training and partnering with community-based organizations to deliver culturally relevant health programming, Gray’s team manages the Project Health wellness campaign. Project Health offers an array of free comprehensive health risk assessments as well as access to CVS Health’s national smoking cessation program and information about the health insurance marketplace and coverage options available under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Project Health events are held in multicultural communities with a significant number of uninsured or underinsured individuals across the United States.

A veteran brand strategist with nearly 20 years of integrated marketing experience, Gray joined CVS Health in 2010. Prior to joining CVS Health, Gray served as Director of Marketing for the ad*itive – a full service multicultural marketing and communications firm – with a mission to improve, strengthen or positively alter the state of client business. As a brand steward for several global organizations including Volkswagen, Colgate, KFC, Ultra Sheen, Coca-Cola and Timberland, she created and activated dynamic experiential marketing programs enabling brands to successfully intersect with customers.

Gray received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Howard University’s School of Communications.
