Lessons Learned Along the Way From a Three Times Cancer Survivor

I survived cancer not once, not twice, but three times.

The first time was mantle cell lymphoma, a rare type of cancer that usually didn’t occur in women, and it usually didn’t even strike men until their 60s or 70s. I was diagnosed with it in 2005, on my 50th birthday.

At the time, I was one of only five women in the U.S. diagnosed with this type of cancer.
